Unlock your gifts, your talents, and purpose…Discover it all through your smile. God wants you to smile today. : ) The face of God God has a face. When I started thinking about this, it blew my mind! God has a face? Wow…Stop and imagine that…Wow. So glorious. I repeat: SO GLORIOUS! Jeremy spoke with a psychology professor who told him about why we recognize a face as a pretty face or a handsome face. He showed him an experiment where they took a picture of one woman’s face who’s features did not look at first glance particularly stunning. The professor said that what makes us as people recognize a handsome or attractive face is when that face most represents the common features of the general collective features of human kind. So it’s not that we find a face attractive because it is different than others, but rather because it more reflects the general look of all faces. He told him, The closer people look to the majority of everyone’s faces, the more attractive they look. The further apart from the majority the less attractive the faces appear to us. He showed a picture of a woman who generally did not look spectacularly attractive, but when he placed multiple faces of other individual women on top of her face, to my surprise, she started to look more attractive! Now, here’s what I received from that: We look so much better when we are united! Furthermore, when we are one, we start to reflect God’s face! The face of God– I believe that in the face of God we will see every man, every woman, every boy, and every girl. I believe that when we see His face we will see our cousin, our sister, our father, our brother, that neighbor across the street, the homeless man we saw on the street… We will see ourselves, and then we will know that He alone is God, and then our knees will bow and we will confess that He is God. Think about how attractive is the face of God. If the face of a person who looks slightly like the majority of other people looks attractive to us, just imagine the face of our King and Savior God who will have the face of all in His beautiful face. And when He sees us, He also sees Himself and it puts a smile on His face. God created us for joy! He created us to smile.: ) This book represents just that. Looking at the smile of God who smiles on us. Seeing how God wants us to smile just as he did when he made each of us. The more we seek His face, the closer we get to his heart. The Psalmist said, My heart says of you, ‘Seek his face!’ Your face, LORD, I will seek (see Psalm 27:8). Let’s pray that this book will be a blessing to you as you seek the beauty of his face, and receive His smile today.
