Knox Being the new vet in the small town of Lockgrove Bay, I'm focused on treating the ailments of the various pets that come into my clinic, whilst trying to not focus on the ailments still plaguing my wounded heart. I don't want to let anyone into my heart again, for fear it might shatter into an unbreakable mess.That is until Dakota Neelson brings her beloved cat Minx in for a consultation. There's something about her that gets under my skin, even though I know I shouldn't want her. She's clearly to young and inexperienced for me. But she makes me also wonder if a love of animals is the mutual connection I need with someone to finally move on from the heartbreak of my past. Dakota I've never been interested in guys my own age. They're all silly and act like complete idiots. Plus they don't appreciate or love animals like I do. No one has ever caught my eye until I meet the new vet when he takes over the clinic. He's too old for me, but I just want to be near him no matter the cost. I want him to take my heart, even if he breaks it.
