Analytic Element Method: Complex Interactions of Boundaries and Interfaces

This text puts forth new methods to solving important problems across engineering and science, and has a tremendous potential to broaden perspective and change the way problems are formulated. Methods utilize basic mathematical procedures that students who have completed a sequence in calculus should be prepared to master. Presentation begins with basic principles and moves through to their implementation in computational methods. All examples and problems have been worked in Scilab (www.scilab.org) with solutions for examples to be provided as an addendum at the publisher’s website. Students with computational acumen should be able to easily adapt these examples to solve the problem sets. Solutions to selected problems will be provided to assist with grading.
