The Pigeons project links school kids with Australian children’s authors in a letter writing exchange. Run over 16 weeks, the project facilitates a creative collaboration between the author and student, resulting in a piece of writing such as a short story, poem or comic. Twelve very generous children’s authors are working on the pilot projects: Sally Rippin, Tony Wilson, Claire Saxby, Jackie Kerin, Meredith Costain, Paul Collins, Michael Hyde, Michael Wagner, Jane Godwin, Michael Pryor, Alison Lloyd and Kirsty Murray.

The fundraiser is for the printing of the book and to host a launch for the kids and authors at the end of school term. Blake Scott and The Dead Words are lending some sweet, sweet tunes to the evening, as well the junkyard theatre antics of The Suitcase Royale. MC Michaela McGuire will be the glue holding it all together and making sure everyone has a good time.

The fundraiser is $12 on the door.
