Maxine Clarke book launch

Melbourne poet TT.O (Pi Oh), and Overland editor and non-fiction writer Jeff Sparrow will launch Maxine Clarke’s Gil Scott Heron is on Parole.

Maxine is a West Indian-Australian writer and poetry slam champion. Her collection of poems Gil Scott Heron is on Parole charts new linguistic and cultural territory for Australian poetry and introduces a brave new voice in Australian writing. Gil Scott Heron is on Parole is an angry, aggressive, awakening and long-awaited comment on the trials and tribulations of African descendents in the ‘new world’.
