Chloe Hooper’s first novel A Child’s Book of True Crime was published in many languages. It was a New York Times Notable Book and short-listed for the Orange Prize for Fiction (UK). The Tall Man, her second book, which will also be published widely abroad, grippingly recounts the tragic story of Cameron Doomadgee’s death in the Palm Island police station and the subsequent trial of Senior Sergeant Chris Hurley. Chloe’s early articles on Palm Island, for the Monthly magazine, won a Walkley Award.
